Purpose and Guidelines

THE RED SCARF CLUB

The purpose of our club is plain and simple - Fun, relaxation, comradeship and entertainment.  Oh yes..... And dinner - lots of dinners.

Our guidelines are just as simple:

  1. The only rule is....that there are no rules.

  2. Any "guidelines" that we have are established only for purposes of organization.

  3. There are 3 types of membership:

    A.  FULL - Veteran of 553rd FA Bn, 1956-1958, or Spouse of 553rd FA Bn. Veteran, (living or deceased)
    B.  HONORARY - Direct relative of Veteran or Spouse.  Honorary memberships may also be requested for close friends who we wish to be considered part of our club.
    C.  GUESTS - Always welcome, but must be sponsered by a FULL member, and accepted by all others. Just be sure to notify the Secretary or the Events Coordinator for a guest pass for them. (Members are responsible for the guests that they bring.)

NOTE:   All FULL and HONORARY member invitations will be voted on by active FULL members.  All members will be notified of a requested invitation for a FULL or HONORARY member, and will have a short time to respond with any objection.  (Each FULL member has the right of veto of any invitation.)  If none are received in the short period of time (a day or so should be plenty), it will be assumed that there are no objections, and the invitation will be given.

  4. This is a mature members club, but "babes in arms" and toddlers are always most welcome.  Older young children are discouraged.

  5. The RED SCARF CLUB, is not a break-away from any group.  We are all proud members of the 553rd FA Bn, Darmstadt, Germany, 1956-1958 and therefore are in concert with any 553rd group aligned with us.  We are just a separate private club, open by invitations only.

  6. Our home base is Branson, MO.  We choose it because of it's central location, and changing entertainment venues.

  7. We have no elected club officer's, and no dues or fee's.  All positions are volunteered and individually funded, such as Webmaster/Secretary, and Events Co-or-duh-na-tor", on strictly a need basis. Each person pays their own way as they go.
P.S.  As there are no "rules" - but "guidelines", I also try not to refer to our "club" as a "group", (which, to me, describes a more formal, organized gathering).  I also refer to our meetings as "get-togethers" rather than "reunions", for the same reasons.  This is a personal choice of mine - to keep this all as informal as possible.  This started out with a few people with a common interest, getting together for "a dinner and a show".  It would be nice to keep that philosophy - no matter how large we get.

As we used to say in the army:

"Call me whatever you want -
just don't call me too late for chow
".
